Simplicity 4270 - Wool dress

Here's the dress that I made in a few days at the very beginning of December.

With the alterations I made to this dress, I think it looks more 1940's than 1930's. I used a navy wool fabric that I've had for a few years now to make a suit and dress; so far I've made the dress and a skirt, but have yet to make the jacket. I'll get around to it one of these days...

Alterations include: I added sleeves to the dress using the jacket pattern and changed them to 3/4, and altered the neckline to make it more conducive to a cooler weather dress. I'm very happy with the way the back neckline turned out, especially! And, I shortened the dress, which is very obvious.
There is a tiny bit of brown in the fabric, so I can wear it very well with brown accessories or just stick to navy. Either way, it fits nicely into my wardrobe!
