When I saw these on Quaint and Quirky, (originally from Martha Stewart) I thought they were adorable! A few days later, I decided to make them. So, after an unsuccessful purchase of pinecones that were too big, I picked some off the tree outside and put them on top of the stove to open up. My little brother thought he was very clever when he said, "If you warm to them, they will open up to you!" Indeed, within a few days, they were open and ready.
It took me a few more days snatching time here and there to sew all the little hats, mittens, and slippers for all twelve I was going to make. Finally a few days after Christmas, I managed to assemble them (only 11 in the end). They turned out very cute, imho.
The two blue and green themed ones in the front there are my favorites with the little guy on the right being my mostest favoritest! :-)
