Maternity Peasant Blouse

I'm having trouble with uploading pictures to blogger. That's why this is late. Sorry. ~am

I'd altered Simplicity 2739 a few times already and I knew with more modifications, it should work for maternity. With both my sister and sister-in-law pregnant at the same time, I decided to make one for each of them. I sewed it up in a horrendous 90's easter fabric as a trial run, had them both try it on and I modified it to fit each of them.

I did not tell them what colors I had chosen for each of them. I wanted to surprise them. :-) They were both thrilled with the fabrics that I'd chosen.

This is the one that I made for my sister. I finished stitching the last touches on it as we were traveling to a conference with them. Nothing like last minute. ;-) She was able to wear it right up to the end of her pregnancy I believe.

I don't yet have pictures of the other one - it's a bold, but classy blue floral print with chocolate brown accents. And, considering that the little guy that made the shirt needed is 3.75 months old now, the maternity clothes are packed away.
